Barbara Deanna's Story
I live in a very small town outside of McKinney, Texas. I have been married for almost 32 years and we have one 26 yr old son together, My husband has 3 girls from a previous marriage, all grown with kids of their own,,,making me a grandma (whether I was ready or not!!). Anyone who remembers me from high school probably thought I was stuck up, but really it more like PAINFULLY shy. If that didn't ring any bells how about the fact that I was the one white girl on the drill team?? :-) A friend (Janet Muir) talked me into joining with her and two weeks into it she got mono and was out of school for 6 weeks. in there and it ended up being a blast. I'm sure people laughed at my white legs trying to find some rhythm on that football field among all the sistas but I had fun regardless. I was involved in Yearbook & Newpaper and had aspirations at the time of getting a degree in Journalism and maybe being a magazine editor. Isn't it funny the directions your life takes - that couldn't be further from how I ended up. I went to college for a year and a half before falling in love with my guy and moving to Texas. Mainly I've worked as an Admin, Assistant and currently work in HR and do payroll for a brain injury rehab company for the last 10 years.
